Ms. CEO's Baby Daddy Is the Merchant of Death

Synopsis

Connor Reed has never operated in the open. Everything about how he built Dominion Tech into the largest private arms company on the planet depended on controlling exactly what people knew about him and when they knew it. When the attempts on his life made staying visible too dangerous, he disappeared into the identity of a truck driver and kept moving. A single night with Scarlett Hayes was never supposed to become anything. He saved her, they spent one unplanned night together, and he left before morning to handle the people trying to kill him. Scarlett spent the next four years raising their daughter Summer alone, turning down an arranged marriage her family demanded, and absorbing the cruelty of relatives who treated her daughter's unknown paternity as a social weapon. When she finally locates Connor and introduces him to the quiet four-year-old standing beside her, the calculation that has guided every decision he has ever made stops working. Summer is not a mission. She is not a threat to neutralize or a problem to solve. She is the one thing the Merchant of Death was never trained to handle, and she is already calling him daddy.

Fascinating Curiosities About the Series

The series premiered on ReelShort on February 1, 2026, immediately distinguishing itself within the hidden-identity romance genre by grounding its male lead's secret not in concealed wealth or corporate power but in a global arms operation that makes everyone around Connor genuinely and measurably less safe.
Nick Puya, who plays Connor Reed, was born on October 11, 1994, in South Florida, and launched his acting career at nineteen. The physical economy he brings to Connor's early scenes, where every movement communicates threat assessment and controlled distance, makes the gradual thaw in his scenes with Summer one of the most visually compelling character arcs the vertical drama format has produced.
Nikki Leigh, who plays Scarlett Hayes, is a model, actress, and content creator from Orange County, California, with a platform following exceeding one million. Her previous ReelShort appearance in Step Aside, I'm The King of Capital had already established her as one of the platform's most recognized leading women before this series launched.
Scarlett Shields plays Summer with the kind of unguarded spontaneity that cannot be rehearsed into existence, making every scene she shares with Nick Puya feel like something genuinely unscripted is happening between them, and giving the father-daughter dynamic an emotional authenticity that carries the entire second half of the series.
The flash marriage in the early episodes forces two people who barely know each other into a domestic situation that runs in permanent and escalating tension against the assassination threat still circling Connor from outside, creating a structure where the warmth building inside the household and the danger building outside it are always pushing against each other simultaneously.
The storyline involving Scarlett's stepmother and half-sister operates on a different register from the action elements but with equal precision, using Summer's unknown paternity as a class weapon in ways that accumulate quietly across multiple episodes before Connor's intervention reframes every earlier cruelty as something that was always going to be answered.
The series earned an IMDb user rating of approximately 8.3 in its opening weeks, a score that reflects not just the quality of its action sequences or its romantic tension but the specific emotional intelligence of a production that understood its real story was always about a little girl who deserved a father and a man who turned out to deserve a daughter.
